Spiritually Saturated

Today was stake conference for the BYU 22nd stake. Presiding was Elder Lynn G. Robbins of the seventy. I think he was my favorite speaker today. He spoke during both the general and adult session, but we're all adults so...yeah. Basically everyone attends both sessions. I love Sunday's where I come home feeling enlightened and taking something from the talks that have been given. It was a very spiritually uplifting day, as it should be...I did spend four hours at church. I was like a sponge just soaking it all in. Anyway, I just wanted to share a few things that he shared that I really enjoyed or felt like it applied to me.

He shared this quote by Winston Churchill: "Success is the ability to go from one failure to another without a loss of enthusiasm." Not only do I really like this, but it was something I needed to hear. I hate when I feel like I've let myself down and when I've let other's w down, especially my family. I tend to dwell on my failures. It's something I definitely need to change. I need to remember that when I fail at something, it's not the end of the world. Nobody's perfect, everyone makes mistakes, and I need to get up and dust myself off when I fall. I need to remember to remain enthusiastic and optimistic when I stumble. You can't change the past, you can only move forward and move forward with a positive attitude.

Elder Robbins and a counselor in the Stake Relief Society Presidency both talked about listening to the counsel of the prophet and the apostles, even when we don't completely understand or when it doesn't seem logical at the time. There is safety in following the prophet. Elder Robbins shared a story that is a great example of this.

On November 23, 1996, Ethiopian Airlines flight 961 was hijacked by three Ethiopians that wanted to seek political asylum in Australia. They stormed the cockpit and forced the co-pilot to leave. The hijackers told the captain that they had a bomb and would blow up the plane if their demands were not met. The captain told them they didn't have enough fuel to make it to Australia. The hijackers didn't believe him. He decided to follow the African coastline hoping they wouldn't notice, but they did and forced him to fly East. He knew of an airstrip on a nearby island where he could make a safe landing because they were running out of fuel from flying around off course.

When they ran out of fuel and the engines failed, he was going to make the emergency landing, but a fight at the last minute with one of the hijackers made him lose his visual of the airport. he knew the only option left was to make a water landing. He made an announcement telling the passengers and to put on their life vests, but NOT to inflate them yet. People started to inflate them anyways. One first class passenger even said, The captain told us not to inflate them". The passengers were thinking, "Well, we're going to be in the water anyway, so why not inflate it now?"

Well, the left engine and wingtip struck the water first and caused plane to spin and break apart into three sections. Of the 172 people on board, only 50 survived. A majority of the 122 that didn't survive was because they inflated their life jackets after being told not to. Once they hit the water and the sections of plane filled up, they floated to the top of the cabin and became trapped.

(There are videos on YouTube of the crash if you feel so inclined.)

I have a testimony of following the prophet, but this story illustrated the importance even more so. Even when it seems so simple or it doesn't fully make sense, we still need to listen. There is safety in following the prophet.

One theme for today, as I'm sure is the theme in many BYU wards (the single ones), is DATING & MARRIAGE. Yeah, only at BYU. The prophet has recently said that he's concerned about the lack of dating which is going on among LDS young adults. It's so true! Guys don't ask girls out. What's up with that? Our stake presidency brings this up EVERY time they speak. Today the guys were basically ordered to get a friend and ask girls out for a double date. It was funny and everyone was laughing, but let's hope that they actually follow through.

One other funny thing, Elder Robbins compared chastity to a chocolate chip cookie (everyone was craving cookies by the end of the session). He was making the point that "Temptation is easier to avoid than resist". If you're on a diet, it's easier to avoid the temptation by not having cookies in the house instead of trying to resist them when they are fresh out of the oven and on the kitchen counter. Same thing for remaining sexually pure; just completely avoid situations that would cause temptation instead of trying to resist it once it's already there.

All of the other talks were great as well, but I didn't want to make this post too long so I just shared my favorite bits & pieces.

And now a shout out to my girl

Gettin' My Craft On

I love blog stalking all the really crafty and creative people that are out there. I wish I could be as half as creative as they are. I mean, I'm creative to certain degree, but these people take it to another level. They live and breathe creativity. So, last night I was looking at cupcake and baking blogs. It reminded me of something that I've wanted since I acquired my little cupcake obsession...a cupcake stand! I've wanted a cute way to display my cupcakes besides just putting them on a plate, platter or cooling rack. I make cupcakes enough that I figured it would be a good investment. Well, there are some crafty ladies that came up with a few different DIY (do-it-yourself) cupcake stands.

This one is made from terracotta pots and saucers (and a few other things). It costs a little less than $20 to make a set of two. Instructions can be found here.

The second one I found is made from cake boards and cake dummies.

I decided to make this one. Not only is it cheaper (if you don't count shipping...there is nowhere nearby to buy the parts so I looked online), but I like how the tiers are bigger and it can hold more cupcakes. Plus it's lighter and not as breakable. Paying for shipping sucks, but I figured it's totally worth it. Instructions for this one can be found here.

My stuff should come next week and then all that's left is to hit up Jo-Ann's for some ribbon, cute paper (too bad I'm not at home), and glue. I'll be sure to post pictures of my finished product. I'm so excited for this, you have no idea! Or maybe you do.

Ke-dollar sign- ha!

So, this week's episode of Glee was definitely not favorite (it's up there with the Madonna episode). And why is that? Alcohol. Their covers of songs were great as always, but I just wasn't feeling the whole let's party and get wasted theme. However, they were promoting alcohol awareness in their own way. Anyway, my favorite part of the whole episode was probably how Principal Figgins kept referring to Ke$ha (pronounced Keh-Sha, though many a people call her Key-Sha) as Ke-dollar sign-ha. I thought it was pretty funny. That's all.

*Note: I am not really a Ke$ha fan. All of her songs promote alcoholism, doing drugs, and sex. The girl can't even sing! She just says the lyrics (like she's talking regularly) and auto tunes the crap out of her voice to make it sound better.*

OMG...Oh My GloZell!

So GloZell is THE funniest black woman in the world. She should be a celebrity up there with Oprah and Michelle Obama. Seriously, I love her videos on YouTube. The other day I caught up on what I've missed of hers over the past few months and man was I really missing out. I don't really feel like posting all of the videos I liked because you can look them up yourself if you are really interested. I'm just going to list some of my favorite GloZell quotes from the videos that I watched. I know not everyone appreciates her like I do, so I won't feel bad if you have no interest in this post.

Ke$ha's song Cannibal: I'm not really a Ke$ha fan, but I love when GloZell tries to figure out her songs. GloZell switches between calling Ke$ha Ketchup and Cashew. Cracks me up. In previous videos GloZell has mentioned her "AAA Meetings" when talking about celebs with issues (you know she means AA, but uses AAA for humor purposes). In this video she says, "Now Ketchup, I can't have you goin' to my triple A meeting and you chompin' on folks. Okay? I didn't know I needed to have like a Silence of the Lambs area just for you." I've never seen this movie, but I know one of the famous lines is something like "I ate his liver with some fava beans". Very fitting GloZell. Cannibalistic movie tied in with a cannibalistic song. She ends by saying, "I better stop talking about this white girl. She might eat some dark meat and then I'll be in trouble." HAHAHA...Love it!

Justin Bieber's Movie - Never Say Never: "I wanna know, does he have a forehead? If some time during that movie this is lifted (she's referring to his signature hair style with his bangs brushed forward) and we can see his forehead, then it is worth the money to go see the movie." GloZell is curious as to what's going to be in the movie. "Are they going to chronologicalize the whole 365 days of his life?" So true about a documentary for a sixteen year old. Way to dis his age G.

Katy Perry's song Firework: *Lyrics will be italicized* Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin?Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in. "No. Nope. I gotta say I've never felt thin. I'm 245 lbs. I'm 5'10. Nope, never felt thin." Make 'em say oh, oh, oh as you shoot across the sky-y-y. "Um, yeah. If I shot across the sky people would go oh, oh, oh. Oh thar she blows! She said this in a pirate accent...how cool is GloZell? One of the best parts of the video is when she's talking about the meaning behind the song (that she gets from watching the music video) and she says, "As long as there's fireworks shootin' out your breasteses, it's all good." I laughed so hard.

And then at the end she says, "Last time she was wearing cupcakes." She's talking about the California Gurls music video where Katy Perry was wearing a cupcake bra. Katy Perry is weird.

Willow Smith's song Whip My Hair: GloZell thinks Willow's rapping doesn't sound like a nine year old. "This chick is 9, okay? Can you whip yo behind back into the 3rd grade cause that's where ya needs to be." One line from the song is Hop out of bed and turn my swag on. GloZell says, "You ain't got no swag, you nine years old!" Talking about whipping hair back and forth, "Okay, first of all you need to have hair to whip back and forth. She gone and shaved like half her hair off so..." Basically this whole video is great and I could keep quoting it but I won't. The ending of the video is THE BEST. Period. She ends by saying, "I whip my hair back and forth. Shoot, I can whip my hair off!" (AS SHE PULLS OFF HER WIG!!!) I just about died laughing.

Basically, GloZell is AMAZING and I would love to spend a day with her. I mean, the things she comes up with. How does she do it? Love her.

LOVEly Day

Happy Valentine's Day, Single Awareness Day and Oregon's birthday!

Check out these gorgeous girls!

Yes, this post is a few days late. I wrote it on Valentine's Day, but I wanted the pictures from Rylee (like the one above). She didn't post them on Facebook right away so I had to wait. I didn't end up stealing all of them so you can just look them up. You may no be able to see everyone with their gifts because of her privacy settings, but you will be able to see all of the ones with me.

Isn't it cute?

Ok, so we did our pink elephant gift exchange for our Valentine's Day FHE. It turned out great! There were some great gifts, funny gifts, and gifts that we had no idea what they were. We followed the typical rules. Everyone draws a number, highest number goes first (I lucked out, I had 3 so I got to see almost everything and take my pick, but I chose to unwrap instead of steal cause it's more fun that way), and each gift can only be stolen twice before it's locked. Our group was a little lame in the stealing department because honestly, there wasn't that much worth stealing. There was the Korean version of Pocky sticks (Japanese candy) courtesy of Matt. Who would've guessed, right? He's still pretty fresh off the mish I'm guessing because he talks about Korea a lot. I don't know when he got back, but it's probably been a year or less. I don't mind though. Tara brought strawberries. They weren't wrapped and she promised to dip them in chocolate for whoever ended up with them. Those two were the most fought over. The pregnancy test was a hit too. It was so funny when Ally opened it. She turned bright red (fitting for the holiday) and everyone was laughing so hard. I'm glad everyone shares my sense of humor and that no one got offended because it could have turned out badly. A Mormon girl opening a pregnancy test on Valentine's day. Yeah. I told people that they wanted the pregnancy test (because I had those toy guns to go with it). Jason stole it from Ally, only to have it stolen and locked by Chas. He knew about the guns. There was also the movie Sleepless in Seattle (surprisingly, a guy contributed this). Other funny gifts were the one's from Chas. He was hoping a guy would get them because it would be funnier. A girl got the deodorant (which was passed around for everyone to smell) and Joe got the pink sleeping mask that read "Beauty Rest". Poor Joe. He originally had the Korean candy and then the strawberries, but both were stolen and he ended up with a lame gift. Arianna got one the evening's practical gifts, a little desk set with pens, paper clips, and push pins. We have no idea what my gift is. It's been sitting in the guys' apartment for a long time and they didn't know what it was either. It says Hasbro on the bottom so we know it goes to a game, but we couldn't figure out which one (I even turned to the all knowing Google, but had no luck). It's this read thing that lights up and makes noise when you put your fingers on the bottom (there's like this metal sensor thing) and push a button. It resembles a heart monitor in the way there are the zig zag lines and makes a noise similar to flat lining. It currently resides in my room collecting dust. Matt ended up with Rylee's roll of toilet paper that she covered with heart stickers. Everyone uses toilet paper, and if they don't they should. Another practical gift. I think that's all of them.

After the exchanging was finished, we ate cupcakes that I made. I made chocolate with butter cream frosting. I used the pink striped liners from Christmas and a big round tip that I was finally able to find online to do swirls like the professionals. They looked pretty good and tasted great. Everyone had fun taking turns shooting the guns while eating and hanging out. It was fun. the guys were so curious about the pregnancy test. I told them I got it at a dollar store and about the look the cashier gave me. Matt asked what I would've said if she had asked how long I'd been married. I would've just flashed my left hand.

Not to brag or anything, but I was pretty much the star of the night. I had the best and funniest gift and I made awesome cupcakes. It was indeed a great Valentine's Day, despite the fact that I am single. Men? Who need's 'em!

Check me out rockin' the red lips. I've decided I REALLY want red lipstick. This was a leftover Mary Kay sample I had.
Must. Get. More.

You don't take a photograph, you make it. ~Ansel Adams

Well, take a look at what I made out of a little boredom.

And here are my favorites....

I'm not vain, I swear.
(These are also on facebook, you can see them bigger & better.)

Arcadia #12

(A very bad picture of our complex that I found online. The window on the left is our apartment.)

Tonight at ward prayer, it was our apartment's turn to introduce ourselves and do the spiritual thought and payer. We took turns reading three [interesting, more or less] things about one of the girls in our apartment and had everyone else guess who it was. My facts were fourth and my name was guessed first for the three previous. I guess they thought it would be cool if I had driven a 12 seater van to school everyday. Too bad that was Arianna. Although everyone was wrong multiple times, it was fun to hear my name guessed a lot. People know who I am! That's always good.

Personal note: I actually have become quite the social butterfly this past school year. Yay me!

Anyway, when my first fact was read (I live on a farm), there were some people who knew right away. My second fact was that I'm taller than my mom. It confused some people because you would think Arianna because she is so tall. Tricky, huh? My third one was that I've never been to a school formal. True and very shocking to some people. I never had that much of an interest in them and my high school's dances was like watching people have sex with clothes on. Don't need to see that! I did go to my stake's modest prom, so I didn't completely miss out on the experience.

Anyway, today was a good Sunday. Chas is one of Arianna and Manju's home teachers and they came over today. He brought his guitar and played a little for us. I also watched The Proposal to get a jump start on Valentine's Day. I love love love this movie. It's so cute! Betty White's character as Grandma Annie (aka Gammy) reminds me so much of Mimi (my great grandmother). Though she's ripe with age, I hope she sticks around for a long time. I don't know what I'd do without my Mimi.

I'm so excited for our FHE pink elephant gift exchange tomorrow. I'm also making cupcakes. I really wanted to do red velvet (duh, it's my fave and v-day), but I made them last time I did cupcakes for FHE. This time I'm doing chocolate and using the pink striped baking cups I got for Christmas. The baking aisle at the store last night was CRAZY! almost all the cake mixes (the normal flavors anyway) were gone and I had to ask for help to get frosting because it was too high or too far back on the shelf for me to reach. I hate having to do that. It's embarrassing.

I think that's pretty much it for now. I will post tomorrow about FHE. I can't wait for someone to unwrap mine!

Dollar Store Escapades

(This is false advertising in Utah because when you buy one item, you can't just fork over a dollar bill. You need a dollar and seven cents. Liars.)

For FHE on Monday, which happens to be Valentines Day (aka single awareness day), we are doing a pink elephant gift exchange. Arianna and I went to Honk's (a dollar store) and found some things that screamed pink elephant. Arianna found a basketball shaped alarm clock. Then she decided to buy a picture frame that holds three photos. She's going to put pictures of herself in it. How funny is that? She'll probably give the clock to Rylee to use since she didn't go with us. I found these guns that are similar to an airsoft gun. The gun comes with a police badge and you can stick your picture in it. I figured the guys would have fun with them (I bought two so they can shoot each other, one just wouldn't be fun).

While checking out, I saw something that is THE definition of a white (in this case pink) elephant gift. A PREGNANCY TEST! Yes, for a dollar. I bought it and received a lovely look from the almost elderly cashier. I almost didn't buy it because Arianna said she wouldn't when I asked her opinion. I understand what she was saying. It would be hilarious if a guy got it; however, if a girl picked it, it could awkward (especially on v-day). Plus, not everyone has the same sense of humor that I do.

While in the middle of doing my dishes, Chas and Joe came over to ask us to go elephant shopping with them. We told them we had just gone. A few minutes later Chas came back and said we should still go with him. I said I would after I finished my dishes. Chas, being the amazing guy he is, dried while I washed. While working as a team, I got his opinion about the pregnancy test and whether I should use it as my gift. Chas loved it! He thinks it's a pretty sweet idea. I decided that I would just do it and use the guns as a real gift to give them afterwards. Arianna decided to go with us, even though she said she was going to do homework the rest of the night.

I just wanna say Chas' car is like an instant party. We had music blaring and he had cookies and cheez-its in his car. There are three seats up front so we just sat in a row. We went to the Dollar Tree. They have a better selection than Honk's. We had fun in toy aisle trying on alligator hats and playing with other things. Well, I was the one mostly playing. Chas settled on women's deodorant and one of those sleeping eye mask things that said beauty rest on it. What are those called?

By the end, Arianna and Chas thought I was going a little crazy with all the stuff I was finding. I REALLY love the Dollar Tree. It was obvious they thought it was time to get me out of there. We piled back in the party mobile and stuffed our faces some more and had fun making fun of lyrics to all the random songs on the radio while trying to find a good station. It was a fun night, but I ate too much junk food today. While in the car we actually heard a commercial where a little girl said something like, "Junk food is junk...it puts you in a funk...something something punk." How ironic.

Kicked To the Curb

Our apartment has been facing a little drama lately. When you attend BYU or live in BYU approved housing, you sign the Honor Code saying you will live according to certain standards. Breaking any one of the rules or guidelines has consequences. In this case, one roommate is getting evicted. It's a big deal. She gets to stay until April (the send of the semester) and then she has to leave. If she continues to break rules, she will get kicked out immediately. The rest of us our like management's little watch dogs. On Tuesday, three of us met with our bishop to talk about what's been going on and what we've seen. One other roommate already had talked to him the week before and that is what got the ball rolling. There have been incidents where rules have been broken before (like curfew, when guys can no longer be in the apartment), but we haven't said anything because we didn't want to cause problems. The latest one was a big one and we decided we couldn't stay quiet anymore.

The Honor Code may not seem like a huge deal, but it is. Because certain rules have been disregarded by one person, our whole apartment is kind of suffering. We don't feel comfortable in our own home. I hate feeling like I can't go everywhere in my own home because I don't want to see something. We've noticed that the spirit isn't here and it is affecting us. That was one of the biggest things for the bishop. He knows we shouldn't have to deal with these kinds of things because of where we are at.

I think this is ridiculous because you know what you can and can't do when you sign the Honor Code. If you don't want to follow the rules, don't live in BYU approved housing. It sucks for her, but we're happy because we like the location of our apartment. It's the time to think about where to live next year and we were waiting to see what would happen before signing new contracts. Our apartment is upstairs (we don't want to hear people above us and we don't want people walking by to be able to see inside; even when the blinds are closed you can still see inside a little in the downstairs apartments) and right next to the laundry room and the stairs. We like it so we are going to stay, now that things are being taken care of.

Saturday Night Success

Even though it's past midnight, I'm still going to pretend it's Saturday. Tonight was our apartment's group date. The night went from stressful to successful. About 10 minutes before we were supposed to start, Manju's date bailed on her (he had something due at midnight and had failed to get it done earlier like he had promised). She told Rylee and me that she probably wouldn't be joining us tonight. We told her there was no way she was getting out of it and that we would find her a guy. Talk about stressful! We were scrambling around trying to find one on such short notice. I ended up asking a guy for her while she finished getting ready and Rylee and Ally went to pick up their guys (who live just down the stairs and a four doors down). By the time he changed his shirt and we got the apartment, Matt was already there. I felt bad that I wasn't there when he arrived. What a great start right?

We started off with a game of UNO while waiting for Brandon and Kristen (who had just gotten off work). The first round we played with the 7's rule (green=slap the ground {grass or our carpet, which is green}, red= hand on heart, yellow=hit forehead {yellow fever}, and blue=touch the sky) and individually. The second round Brandon and Kristen joined us. We still played with the 7's and instead we played as a team and each team picked a number. Every time our team's number was played, we would switch hands with the team that played that card. It was a lot of fun.

After UNO, we played Smurf. One person steps out and the rest come up with adverb/action, which is the Smurf. Then the person comes back in and has to guess the Smurf by asking questions. EX: The smurf is peeling an orange. Question: When was the last time you smurfed? You would answer with the last time you peeled an orange. Pretty simple and the questions and answers can get pretty interesting. One of our other Smurfs was: wearing a dress (funny when the guys admitted they had and told the stories behind it). The guys were so nice! They all went so the girls didn't have to stand outside while everyone decided on the Smurf inside (it's cold outside). Chivalry is not dead my friends. It also gave us a chance to avoid looking dumb if we were to take a long time guessing. All of us girls were very grateful.

The Jell-o followed Smurf. Originally we were going to take turns (as a team) slurping it through a straw and whoever had the fastest time would win. We ended up just making sculptures and other weird looking things with it. Some people had already started their fast for tomorrow. I totally forgot that it was Fast Sunday tomorrow {today}. Basically we just played with the Jell-o. It was fun, sticky, and messy.

We ended with a few short rounds of Boggle in our teams. Boggle may not sound that fun, but it was. Let's just say we had to break out the dictionary.

Before everyone left we made sure to take some pictures. Enjoy!

The Colorful Couples

Manju and Shawn=Purple
(Shawn was such a great sport tonight and he was a great match with Manju)

Brandon and Kristen=Blue

John and Ally=Red

Rylee and James=Yellow

Matt and I=Green
(Wouldn't have it any other way and the green sticking out of my head is from a bow.)

Okay, I just have to say Matt is awesome. Last night I texted him asking if he had his green shirt ready for tonight. He texted, "Yeah, I just bought it today haha." He went out and bought a new shirt! I thought he would've had one already, most guys do. He didn't have to go along with the whole colored shirt idea, but he did. How nice is he?

It got a little funny and awkward when we were done because we walked our dates home. Since they all live downstairs and pretty much next to each other (Shawn is in #5, Matt is in #6, and James & John live in #8) it was a little awkward walking all together. John was nice and walked Ally home since she lives in the complex next to ours. I had a great time and Matt did too. It was nice to see more of his fun side. I even got a hug when I walked him home.

Was this night a success? Heck Yes!

Sundays At Tiffany's

While waiting for my flight home for winter break, I browsed a bookstore in the airport and came across this book. It's written by James Patterson and I love his books. I read the back and thought it had a cute and interesting storyline, which was so different from his usual murder mysteries. I decided to buy it so I had something to do on the plane. I'm glad I bought it. I really enjoyed reading it.

Extremely brief summary: It's about a girl named Jane who has a 35 year old man named Michael as an imaginary friend. On her ninth birthday he disappears (because that's the rule for imaginary friends). In her early 30's she meets a man that looks just like Michael. Possible soul mates?

The book cover said it was turned into a Lifetime movie. I thought I wanted to see it because I liked the book so much, but reading about the movie online has changed my mind. They changed Jane's name. How do you change the main character's name? They also changed other details that I liked so much in the book. After reading the reviews of others that liked the book, they said the movie was not worth watching and it was disappointing. I'm sad the movie wasn't done right. Oh well. At least I can keep my appreciation for the book without the movie tainting it in any way.

This post may seem a little out dated or over due (seeing as how it's now February), but I remembered this because of something I saw on someone else's blog the other day and I thought I would suggest a short and easy read for anyone who was interested.

Baby It's Cold Outside

I know Christmas has come and gone, but it seemed like the perfect title for this post. It has been so cold outside lately (getting out of the shower in the morning can BRUTAL) . There have even been some days where the sun has made an appearance, but did nothing to raise the temperature. Although I hate when the sun is pointless like that, it's still nice to have a bright day instead of a cold and dark one. This cold weather has made me add some things to my ever growing wish list of wants that I can't afford list. Refer to this post for my birthday (there are only 223 days left you know) or Christmas (325 days) gift ideas.

While Christmas shopping with Janara over winter break, I saw this little guy and it was love at first sight!

A CUPCAKE BEANIE!! How awesome is that? It would be perfect for Utah weather and would show off my love of cupcakes. I totally would have bought it too, if it weren't for what makes the world go round...money. It was $27 @ Zumiez. I love it, but not that much. Maybe the price will drop a little between now and September.

Another thing that I've wanted for a long time now has been a beret. I mean a real one and not one that looks like an upgraded hairnet. I think most of the crocheted berets are on the uglier side (just my opinion). Some are cute like this one:

I know how to crochet, but not this well. I only wish I could make this. It's red, which is a color that looks great on me and there's a bow. I love bows. They can pretty much make anything look cute without making it look too young.

Speaking of bows, here are a few more berets that I saw and thought looked really cute.

Basically any beret with a bow would make me happy.

Jack frost doesn't just nip at your nose. He also likes ears. Yup, the next item on my list is a pair of earmuffs. People would like to believe that they are old fashioned and out of style, but I say no way! I love trapper hats as much as the next person (I love my purple and black one that I got for Christmas last year), but sometimes I want my ears to be warm without having to wear too much bulk on my my head. While google-ing (most likely not an actual verb, but it is in my mind) cute earmuffs, I came across these lovelies.

These are my favorite out of the thousands out there and some of the most expensive.

These babies are priced at a whopping $878! It's the bejeweled headband along with being made of 80% fox fur. Who knew I, who loves my $5 Old Navy tees, would have such expensive taste? As much as I am in love with these, I think I'll stick to faux fur. I am an animal lover after all.

These are little more within my price range at $32.

I like these gray ones too.

These ones are borderline childish. They resemble Mickey Mouse, but then again you're never too old for anything Disney. So I still like them...and they have a bow. I also really like the lace on the headband part.

If only I could manage to find a pea coat that actually fits me (it's a daunting task I tell you) and get some brown boots.

Loving the red.

I like this one too. Even a plain black one would be nice to have.

Boots. I love these.

I have a slight crush on these ones too.

If I had any of these items, I would ready and more than happy to tackle the fall and winter months.
